This evening we came upstairs to play before bedtime and Brooke put baby in the infant bouncer and started reading her “The Grouchy Ladybug”. Then while I was cleaning up the playroom after telling Brooke it was time for a bath she arrived back at the playroom door with baby, her bath soap, and her towel. Saying “baby bath”. I figured that baby needed a bath anyway (I run her in with Brooke’s clothes periodically) and that as long as Brooke understood that baby would have to dry overnight and she would have to pick another animal to sleep with tonight we could give baby a bath. After a “yea” in response (we are excited to be getting verbal affirmations instead of the usual head nods) I started the bath. After getting Brooke in the tub I handed her baby and then her wet washcloth. Brooke cleaned baby all over, head, tummy, feet and then played with her. I barely got Brooke dry before she insisted that of course baby had to be dried off as well.
Firetruck Playgroup
Yesterday we had the best playgroup at stroller strides! The Chesapeake Fire Department brought a fire engine and ambulance to the park for the kids to play in and did a demonstration of the the truck and their gear. First thing they did when they came was hand out hats and stickers. They were so nice and informative. The kids had a great time!
Oma and Opa Visit for Brooke’s Birthday
Last week Oma and Opa were here to visit. We had a lot of fun with them. We all went to the reopening of the Chrysler Museum, had Brooke’s 2nd birthday party, went on a 3 year overdue tour of the Norfolk harbor on the American Rover, Stockley Fine Arts Garden Festival, Norfolk Greek Festival, the beach, Oma and Opa went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, and lots of playtime here and at the park. Thanks Opa for taking such great pictures!
Brooke’s 2nd Birthday Dinosaur Party
Saturday was Brooke’s second birthday party and it was in the theme of her favorite thing… dinosaurs! She had a great time pretending to be a dinosaur with her cute RAWR hat, playing will all her friends in her new backyard, excavating for dinosaurs with her friends, eating dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and fruit for lunch, and of course enjoying birthday cake. She had an amazing time and it seemed all the other children, adults, and Oma & Opa did too. The next day she got to open her presents from her friends and one big present from Mommy and Dadda. Happy 2nd Birthday Brooke!
* A big thank you to Jen for the cute home made decorations and cup cake toppers and Opa for taking all the pictures!*

Brooke’s 2nd Birthday
This past week we celebrated Brooke’s 2nd birthday. We’re still not sure where the time went, but Brooke has grown up into a very happy toddler. We had a nice morning with pancake muffin’s, then we rode our bike’s to the park and played. In the afternoon Laura and Brooke played with bubbles on the back porch and opened some cards and gifts. Overall, a very fun 2nd birthday.
