Bergy’s Corn Maze

This beautiful fall morning we did another fall family tradition and ran through Bergey’s Farm Corn Maze.  We started the day off with a private tractor ride (it pays to be the first ones on the farm), then ran through the maze, shot the corn gun to attempt to get some free ice cream, pet the goats, and enjoyed a delicious lunch.  It was really fun that Alex is walking so well that he was able to walk most of the maze himself.  He loves playing ‘chase Mommy’ around the house so we played it in the corn maze and he giggled so much.

Halloween Parade

Today Brooke and all the other 3 year olds at her preschool dressed up in their Halloween costumes and had a parade for the parents this morning.  They learned three new songs to sing to us as well.  While some of the kids had a hard time, you can see Brooke was thoroughly enjoying herself.

Alex Forward Facing

Big boy Alex now gets his turn to face forward and see what is going on in the car.  When I first changed his seat we thought that he would be more excited (like Brooke was) about the change.  Then I remembered that his whole life he has had a friend and companion in the back seat so never was frustrated about not seeing us.  However, a few days later he was loving me checking my blind spot and looking at him then quickly back and now we can giggle at each other even when Brooke is not in the car.

Alex Playing Ball

One of Alex’s favorite things to take the basketball down from the garage, carry it all the way down the driveway, and then drop ‘throw’ it, pick it up, and do it again. Here are some pictures and a video of this cutie enjoying one of his favorite outdoor activities on a nice crisp fall day.

Hiking and Stick Finding

Alex was very frustrated after Brooke’s soccer game and I knew exactly why.  He really wanted to get in the game and play and hated walking on the sidelines.  So after her game I forgoed errands we needed to run and took them to the Arboretum were Alex could do one of his favorite things: play with fallen leaves and pick up sticks.  He loves to pick up sticks and carries them and will always trade his stick for a bigger one if he can find it.  On two occasions during this hike he attempted to trade for a felled tree. Then Brooke found us a new trail we had never been on and I let the two of them take their time and lead us through the trees.  When Alex got tired I had the carrier on to give him a lift back home.  Brooke sang songs and enjoyed the entire hike with me and her brother.
