Today was warm enough to take my cuties to our local splash pad at the amazing Great Bridge YMCA Pool. I love that this is 6 minutes away from my house! I have a feeling we will be living here all summer. It was just warm enough for a bit of splashing and both the kids had a blast!
Picnic with Alex
Alex and I took advantage of this beautiful spring weather and had a picnic at the Great Bridge Lock Park to watch the boats in the locks and play on the playground after lunch. I am lucky to have such adorable dining company!
Ammy and Papa Visit
We had Ammy and Papa to visit and we enjoyed having them. Unfortunately, both kids got sick with fevers while they were here but we still managed to have a lot of fun. We went to storytime, playtime at the park, strawberry picking, Alex got to go to gymnastics, and we saw the Lantern Asia exhibit at NBG. Ammy and Papa gave Brooke and Alex their birthday gift, and got to enjoy it while they were here and an ice cream treat afterwards to celebrate!

Brooke’s Birthday Dress
Brooke had asked Oma for a polka dotted dress for her birthday and Oma sewed a beautiful dress for her. Brooke loves it!
Pungo Tar Roof Bazaar
Today I took the kids to Pungo for the Tar Roof Bazaar. It was advertized as a gathering of community and culture so that peaked my interest and we drove out. They had many different tents with different arts, crafts, antiques, etc. Brooke was happy eating the sandwich I packed for her but Alex was set on my southern BBQ pulled pork sandwich I got from a food tent. We danced and sang to the talented performer who entertained us. After lunch we entered the Tar Roof to find that it was an art gallery. We enjoyed looking at the historic home and the art inside. The next door surf shop let the kids play on their half pipe too.
