Circus Day with Daddy

I took Brooke and Alex to the Ringling Bros circus for the first time this year.  Unfortunately it is also the last year for the circus.  We all had a great time though watching the acrobatics, clowns, animals and general fun of the circus.  Alex especially liked the popcorn and cotton candy.

Great Wolf Lodge

We just had a great two days at Great Wolf Lodge.  Once we got there we got right to business getting in the water and riding all the fun slides.  We ate pizza poolside when we got hungry and splashed some more in the wave pool.  Both kiddos were big enough to go on the two bigger slides by themselves this time.  The next day we had breakfast and enjoyed more fun in the water but after everyone (including parents) had a good nap they were a little fussy about getting back into their suits to go back into the water.  The reason they were upset?  They wanted to play in the water but without changing.  Naturally we had to take a picture of their ridiculous co-tantrum.  After sorting that out we played in the water before drying off to head to a local BBQ joint for dinner.  When we got back from dinner we all got showered and into our pajamas for the bubble dance party, animatronics show, and storytime.  Before we left it was snowing during breakfast which we had a treat of Dunkin Donuts.  Luckily the snow stopped as we drove home. It was a fun mini-vacation!

Big Bath Time

Tonight for fun I bathed the kids in our tub and let them play with the jets on.  They had a good time in the ‘big bath!’

NWRP Picnic

Today was another gorgeous one so I took the kiddos to NWRP for a picnic.  We walked down the main road to make it easier.  We enjoyed lunch, throwing rocks/sticks in the river, and playing before heading back.

Brooke’s New Skirts

I decided to make some skirts for Brooke as I make all her under dress/skirt shorts out of old leggings (I’ve cut all Alex’s pants that don’t fit into shorts too).  All the skirts for her size are inappropriately short for her so I decided to make her some custom ones.  I started with scrap silver fabric that I had from an old halloween costume.  Then I made a blue one out of some fabric I had.  I took one of her dresses that was too short, cut off the top, and make a skirt from it.  Then Brooke and I went on a shopping trip to the fabric store and she picked out three fabrics for skirts: a bunny fabric, flower fabric, and butterfly fabric.  She now has 6 new custom skirts and she loves wearing them.
