Memorial Day

AJ came home from work right before dinner on Memorial Day and decided he wanted to roast hot dogs on our firepit.  He made a yummy dinner while Brooke and I made salads and set the table.  After dinner we made smores!

Busy Busch Gardens

We decided to head to Busch Gardens on a Sunday.  That was a terrible idea.  We waited 45 minutes from the off ramp to move 0.2 mi to the parking ticket gate and it took another 15 minutes to get to the park.  The kids were awesome and took this in stride when our 1 hour car ride turned into a 2 hour one.  Even though the park was packed the kids got to ride the roller coasted they asked for, Grover’s, three times.  One time they both rode together which was so much fun to watch!  We waited another 30 minutes to take the sky lift because Brooke really wanted to ride it and cleverly used that time in line to feed the kids the lunch we packed.  We rode to the top of the park when it unfortunately started raining much earlier than predicted. We tried to wait it out, but eventually decided to leave and ran from the back of the park to the front and got soaking wet in the process.  Lesson learned: Never go to Busch Gardens on a weekend or if there is even a slight chance of rain later in the day.  We laughed it off and will just have to try it again some other time.

O’Connor Date Night

We went on a date night in Norfolk and finally went to the O’Connor brewery.  They opened when I was pregnant with Alex so it was only about time we got there (3 years later).  It was a huge building with a wall of open windows that we watched a lightning storm while drinking our beers.

2017 Garden

Oma helped plant the garden and it is looking good with the new trellis Papa helped AJ and I build.  Alex and I installed it by ourselves and he is pretty handy with a power screwdriver.  We can’t wait for our cucumbers, onions, green beans, bell peppers, and zucchini!

Brooke’s Pre-K Graduation Ceremony

Brooke’s school had a little graduation ceremony for her leaving pre-K.  They sang a song, got a ‘diploma’, and took pictures with their teachers.  Afterwards we took Brooke to her favorite restaurant for lunch to celebrate!
