October Kindergarten Homework

This month’s family homework (she has daily homework but one big project a month to complete with your family) was to make a portrait of yourself in fall with encouragement to use 3D items such as puffy paint, felt, stickers, etc.  Brooke and I brainstormed and thought it would be fun to make her portrait with leaves and actual fall items.  We gathered and stored various leaves, acorns, pine cones, flowers from our yard and other places around town for the last two weeks and yesterday and today completed her homework.  I helped her by sketching her and lightly painting in the details so she could glue the leaves over herself.  She chose where things went and glued them down, came up with using crushed leaves for her hair, and designed her necklace and headband.  Brooke did a great job with her homework!

A Day with Alex

Alex and I ended up spending a lot of time together today and he had a lot of fun playing in the yard, riding his bike, having a snack, and swinging in the hammock.

Brooke’s First 1 Mile Race

This morning Brooke ran her first 1 Mile race The Spooky 1 Mile.  She did great and finished in 10 minutes 29 seconds.  Alex had a lot of fun riding along in the stroller.  After the race I treated the kids to donuts then we surprised AJ at work.  After that we went and played at two parks and they both passed out on the car ride home.  Brooke really enjoyed her race and is excited to do another race next month.

Apple Cider

With fall here and finally colder weather I mulled some cider for everyone today.  It was a hit!
