Laura and I competed the G.U.R. (Great Urban Race) in Phoenix today.  It is basically a large scavenger hunt were each team is given 12 clues and they must solve 11 of them.  The trick is that to get around you can only go by foot or public transportation (i.e. bus or the new light-rail system).  We ended up running about 8 miles throughout the downtown area, but managed to finish with a pretty good time for our first time out (51 out of 161 in a time of 3 hours and 9 minutes).  We are definitely going to do this again next year, and you should too. Check out the G.U.R. website to see if a city near you is hosting a race.
