Alex’s 3rd Birthday

Alex wanted a tiger birthday party for his 3rd birthday so we had some fun with jungle animals.  We decorated the house with animals and put them on the cupcakes.  Brooke helped me hide large plastic jungle animal toys in the backyard so that Alex’s friends could go on ‘safari’ with their tiger binoculars and find and keep them.  Everyone had a great time finding their animals, playing with them, and all of our toys in the playroom.  After dinner and birthday cupcakes the guests left and Alex opened his train tracks from Oma and Opa for the train table AJ built.  The next morning he opened all of his presents after having birthday pancakes.

Sandbridge Vacation

We spent a week at our favorite local beach – Sandbridge.  We rented a condo and had a few days of overcast and rain.  Brooke and Alex got to try boogie boarding for the first time and they had a great time with it!  Oma and Opa joined us at the beach and brought the sunshine with them.  We had beautiful sunny days for the rest of the trip even though it rained a few nights. We had a lot of fun building numerous sand castles, making mermaids and octopuses out of the children, lots of swimming in the ocean, relaxing on the beach, and more boogie boarding.  We also had a first for Brooke when she lost her first tooth!  It had been wiggly for about a month and decided to come out at the beach.  The kiddos had a lot of fun at the condo too, playing with Oma and Opa and the treasure hunt game Oma made for them.  On the last night we climbed the lifeguard towers before heading home the next day.

Mother’s Day

This mother’s day I got to share it with Ammy and my baby girl Brooke turning FIVE!!  I felt a lot of love from my wonderful kids and family and received beautiful and thoughtful gifts too.

Brooke’s 5th Birthday

Brooke’s 5th birthday party was butterfly themed and so we decorated the house with lots of butterflies to make it a ‘butterfly oasis’.  Initially, the party was planned to be outside with many butterflies flitting in the trees but several days of heavy rain moved the party inside.  We got creative putting the bounce house inside, leaving the playroom and kids rooms open for play, and put our paint a pot with butterfly sponges and plant that pot with butterfly friendly flowers in the garage.  It was a busy party and we were lucky to have  Ammy and Papa here to help!  Brooke loved her party and had a great time with her friends!  The next day was her real birthday and mother’s day and she enjoyed opening even more presents after sleeping in and having waffles for breakfast.  Then she got to play and relax with Ammy, Papa, Mommy, Daddy, and Alex.  We all went out for ice cream and Daddy and Papa make all us girls feel special with a cook to order dinner!

Williamsburg Trip with Ammy and Papa

We stayed in Williamsburg thanks to Ammy and Papa getting us two condos for a week!  The grounds had mini golf so we started by playing a round, Alex even played along for a bit.  The next day we took everyone to Busch Gardens to have fun and Alex rode on his first roller coaster!  Everyone had a great time riding the rides!  We walked Colonial Williamsburg and one very happy boy got to see some sheep and Brooke was excited to get ‘locked up’.  Ammy and Papa watched the kiddos so we could have a date night at one of our favorite restaurants, The Fat Canary, and we walked Colonial Williamsburg at dusk with a full moon.  We enjoyed some family snuggle time and the kiddos enjoyed some topless running time before spending the day in Yorktown. It was fun to be near the river and seeing the different replicas.  On a rainy day the kiddos enjoying playing with one of Brooke’s birthday presents from Ammy and Papa.  During a break in the storm we took them on a walk to see the turtles at the pond and ended up playing a short game of horseshoes.  Everyone enjoyed playdoh after dinner that night.  It was a fun week in Williamsburg!
