Newport News Folk Festival
After finishing the half and changing clothes we traveled up the street to the Newport News Folk Festival to enjoy some culture and ended up in a banjo kids drum circle.
Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon
It was a hot and humid day for the half marathon in Hampton and AJ and the kiddos came to cheer me on. I did pretty well with the first half of the race and ended up slowing a bit after mile 8 due to the heat and humidity. My favorite part of the whole race was seeing AJ, Brooke, and Alex at the finish line.

Alex’s Soccer
Alex has been doing better with soccer after a rough start the first week. He is starting to get the hang of it and listening to his coaches. These are some pictures and video from his games on the 30th and 7th.
Charlottesville Weekend
This weekend we did a quick trip to Charlottesville to go apple picking. After we drove up we went to the Virginia Discover Museum, a children’s museum downtown. We then walked their open air pedestrian downtown area and had dinner at an outdoor cafe. After we stumbled upon a free music festival that Brooke had a lot of fun dancing at. The next day we picked apples, enjoyed a hayride, and did a little light hiking before having lunch and driving home.
