Snowmageddon 2017

Wednesday January 3rd they closed school early for potential snow which canceled Brooke’s class because she is afternoon Kindergarten.  Around 8pm on Wednesday it started to snow and it continued to do so until about 3pm on Thursday.  It snowed about 10 inches with much larger snow drifts.  We spent the first day enjoying the powder, shoveling the driveway, doing a bit of backyard sledding, attempting to make a snowman in powder, making snow angels, lots of snow tasting and having a fire and an snow cold beer.  I created Snow School, to keep the kids busy with age appropriate work for each of them, and snowflake crafts which we did Friday.  Then we drove out a bit to a nearby park to try some sledding, unfortunately the wind was so bad we couldn’t stay long so we ended up seeing how bad the roads were and had lunch out as a family.  The kids then enjoyed playing in the snow around the house.  Sometime this weekend a snow fort was built, the front step sled path perfected.  We played outside everyday until Monday when the snow was supposed to snow melt so we went to the trampoline place instead, however, nothing melted Monday.  Yesterday the kids went outside with AJ when it was 50 degrees and made a snowman out of the melting snow.  We are now home 8 days with the snow and school has been canceled for the last 6 days and it’s not looking like school will be back tomorrow. Send us warm thoughts!

Christmas 2017

We had a great Christmas celebration with Oma and Opa visiting.  We saw Christmas lights a day early because of expected rain.  We enjoying visiting Christmas Towne on Christmas Eve morning, making Christmas cookies for Santa, and our traditional Chinese dinner before setting out cookies and carrots for Santa.  Santa came and brought the kiddos exactly what they asked for: a little Christmas tree to decorate and a T-Rex dinosaur with mouth that opens and closes.  They also got many many many gifts from family and from us too. Oma and Opa enjoyed opening their gifts from the kids and from us as well.  After opening presents, the kids got to try out their new scooters we got them.  Everyone helped me make dinner which was wonderful and we all enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner.  Merry Christmas!

NBG Polar Express

Today we took the Polar Express tram through the NBG lights.  The kids got to see Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas, but of course he already got their note. 🙂

Alex’s Christmas Concert

This morning Alex had his Christmas concert at school.  He has been singing his songs for us for several weeks and we were very excited to see him sing them today.  They even asked the audience to sing along for one song.  He did a great job singing and looked super holiday handsome as well.

Rosey’s 6th Birthday Party
