Laura and I went hiking today at First Landing State Park, a local place right near the beach. It was the perfect day out, a little warm but not too hot. My new phone allowed me to attempt taking a few panoramic pictures without much trouble.
We went to the Zoo today, just to monkey around you know… it was the perfect day for it too, a high of 80 F in February!
The other day a whale “beached” itself in Norfolk. I use the term beached loosely, rather the whale washed up dead with an apparent head injury, probably from a large ship. Today I was able to go down to the beach and see them doing some of the dissection there, kind of neat to see… just don’t stand down wind.
Laura is a member of the Hampton Roads Metro Band and throughout the year they have several free concerts for the people of the Hampton Roads area. Tonight they played their Christmas concert and it was quite enjoyable.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas and using as much electricity as possible, this past weekend when Veronica and Karl were here visiting, we put up our Christmas lights outside. Karl and Veronica both were a big help in hanging the lights and keeping me from falling off the roof.
