Brooke’s Cave

Brooke became upset that Alex was taking his teddy bear to school to ‘hibernate’ in their classroom cave because she didn’t remember doing the same exact thing when she was in the 3 year old class at the same school.  So while she was at school I made her bear a cave and when she got home we put her bear into hibernation.

Bluebird Gap Farm and Newport News Park

Today was going to be another warm 60 degree today so I took the kids to Hampton and Newport News to try two new parks.  We started off at a park with farm animals and then hiking at the second.  We all had a great day!

Mount Trashmore

The weather was mild today so after my long run I took the kids to play at Mt. Trashmore Park.  We had fun at the playground, climbing the hills, throwing rocks in the water, and climbing trees.

Mommy’s Treat

I have been doing a good job keeping the kids busy while they have been home for six days with the snow and this morning I arranged for us to go jumping at the trampoline park and then lunch as a family at a new pizza place.  During lunch Brooke whispered AJ something.  When I got home I took a shower and when I got out Brooke had prepared a relaxing time for me because ‘I do a lot and that is a lot of work.’  She had (with AJ’s help) made me a cup of tea and found a tupperwear with which I could soak my feet in warm water.  Then on her own she got my book, my water, and a blanket for me.  AJ said she set it up all on her own, even choosing which tea by smelling it.  It was a very sweet thing for her to do.  She wanted to snuggle with me for a bit and then have me read her a book.  Then she played with AJ and Alex and I got to read for quite a while by myself.  It was very relaxing!

Brooke’s Kindergarten Christmas Party

We got to join Brooke in her class today for her Christmas Party.  We had fun helping her with crafts and activities and watching her interact with her teachers and friends.
