Easter 2015

Today was Easter, and Laura, Brooke and Alex went to the park in the morning while AJ worked.  Alex got to swing in a swing for the first time today, he loved it.  In the afternoon, after naps, Brooke went on an Easter egg hunt in our backyard and found all the eggs, she enjoyed the big chocolate bunny she got at the end and Alex likes his new bunny.  We went out for dinner and Alex got to sit in a high chair unassisted for the first time as well.  He did remarkably well, and considering Dad forgot the bib, he did really well eating at the table, barely getting any food on himself.

Daddy’s Week Off

For the past week I have been off of work and we’ve been making the most of it, having lots of family time.  We played around the neighborhood, went to the park several days, and Alex, Laura and AJ went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens one day while Brooke was in school.  Alex has really taken to sitting up on his own, once you set him upright.  He’ll sit there for quite a while now just playing and laughing.  Alex also got his first bike ride today, and he couldn’t have been happier on the bike, smiling the whole way down the street.

Family Zoo Day

AJ was off today and so we decided to monkey around and take a trip to the zoo.

Williams Farm Rec Center Visit

I heard from the mommy grapevine that there was a new rec center that had an amazing indoor waterpark for kids.  Today we checked it out.  Also it was Alex’s first time in the pool.  The kiddos had fun and Alex did amazing in the water.  As I called it on his first bath…I think I’ve got another water baby on my hands.  Good thing they both like water so much because we have a lot of it here!

Beautiful Day

Today was the kind of day that lets you know that spring is really right around the corner and makes those 30 degree days in March bearable.  It was a warm 60-70 degrees today and I spent the most of it outside with both kiddos (especially since the next day was 35 degrees and raining).  We took over a playgym at the playground (since no one else was there) and enjoyed the area with a packed lunch.  Alex took his first ride down the slide too.  Then after nap we enjoyed a delicious dinner al fresco!
