We recently had our summer family pictures done at the Chesapeake Arboretum. We got a couple of good shots of us and ones of the kids.

Oma and Opa Visit
Oma and Opa came to visit and celebrate my birthday with me. We had a great time with them as always and had a couple of fun firsts for Alex. Both kids got new carseats: Brooke got two fancy new booster seats and Alex got moved up to Brooke’s old convertible car seats. We had a picnic at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens and little french boy Brooke played in the water which we didn’t know was turned on yet. Alex had his first experience at the beach including eating some sand. Oma and Opa took Brooke to the park to play and swing while I took Alex to the grocery store and he got to sit in the cart for the first time. We also had a lot of fun around the house. It was a good and busy visit.
Laura’s 33rd Birthday
For Laura’s birthday this year, Brooke and Alex worked diligently at their gift for her – – creating a very nice planter of succulents, just what she asked for. She seemed to enjoy that and all of her other gifts. We gave Laura the morning off to do what she pleased, then joined her for a nice picnic lunch at the park. Later in the week I took Laura to a ropes course at the VA Beach Aquarium, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Virginia Living Museum
Today we all went to Hampton to visit the Virginia Living Museum. It was a nice museum that had some nature trails and a fun children’s garden. Everyone had a really enjoyable day out.
Park Day
The weather is really getting nice this past week. Today after lunch we all went to the park and played. Brooke and Alex got to swing next to each other, having a great time.
