Alex’s 2nd Birthday

Birthday boy started his day with a stack of pancakes and blowing out candles. Then we took him to his two year old well child check up where Dr. Mink confirmed our suspicions that he was huge. After lunch of pizza, one of his favorite foods, he opened our presents and was very happy to receive more trains, books, and an Elmo doll. Cake came right after nap because Daddy had to head to work, but a sleepy Alex didn’t seem to mind cake before dinner. We had planned on going bike riding, as that is another one of his favorite things, but it rained. Luckily it was just a rainstorm and not a thunderstorm and therefore perfect puddle jumping weather. Happy 2nd Birthday Alex!

Family Summer Hike

It has been a HOT summer for us but we got one really nice day of 84 degrees and spent almost all day outside. We also got to hike which we haven’t been able to do since summer started. Everyone had a great time hiking except for the moment Alex misunderstood the softness and good partnering of a tree. Afterward we all got cupcakes for dessert!

Blueberry Picking

4th of July Celebration- Alex’s First Fireworks!

For this year’s 4th of July Celebration we headed the Chesapeake City Park to enjoy their festivities and fireworks show. We enjoyed some of the kids crafts and bounce houses but when they shut them down (an hour before fireworks started) we took to the Fun Forest to play. Once the fireworks started Alex was awestruck! He didn’t even suck his thumb or wince once. He really enjoyed his first fireworks show! Happy Birthday America!
