4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year!  We enjoyed going to Chesapeake City Park for the Celebrate Freedom festival July 3rd to play, listen to music, and watch fireworks.  On the 4th we headed to the beach!  We spent the entire day at the beach under our new canopy, building in the sand, but mostly swimming in the warm ocean water.  Brooke and Alex love being in the water and Brooke learned to drive through the waves now that she is swimming on her own.  Late afternoon we drove home and both cuties fell asleep.  After we let them nap at home, I made dinner and then we had a family movie night since they wouldn’t be ready for bed after napping at 5pm.  We really enjoyed being together as a family!

Water Squirters

The kiddos got some new water squirters and AJ told them to try them out since he was hot from mowing the lawn!

Beach Day with Oma

Oma did such a wonderful job taking care of Brooke and Alex while we celebrated our 10 year anniversary in NYC.  We got home late Saturday night and Sunday we all went to beach all day long with Oma.  The kids had a great time playing in the sand with her and knocking down her sand castles.  After lunch at the beach and being there for five and a half hours we washed up and headed to Pungo Pizza for dinner on the way home.  Monday the kids and I got to play with her all morning before we drove to the airport.  They had a great time with Oma!

Father’s Day

This Father’s Day we had a lot of fun celebrating AJ!  It started off with a big breakfast then, AJ read to the kiddos while I cleaned up the kitchen.  Brooke and Alex were so excited to give AJ his presents.  We let AJ have some alone time at home in the morning and then we all went to lunch at one of his favorite places Mr. Jims.  After a nap for Alex and more downtime for AJ we all went to the pool for some fun.  I cooked AJ his favorite steak and salad for dinner after swimming.  Happy Father’s Day AJ!

Brooke’s Last Day of Kindergarten

Today was Brooke’s last day of Kindergarten, next year she will be in first grade.  We are so proud of what she has accomplished in this year and how much she has grown.  After she had a fun day at school, I took her and Alex to the pool for a few hours of fun, then we came home to have dinner with AJ, and all went to a music concert with ice cream treats.  We enjoyed celebrating our girl.  The school sent home this cute ‘class of’ picture that is now on our fridge and I made the side by side picture to see her first and last day of Kindergarten.
