Christmas morning rose early and the kids bound down the stairs to find exactly what they wanted from Santa. They had a lot of fun playing with their new toys while we make breakfast. After a quick bite we opened the rest of the presents and then of course played with them the rest of the day. We enjoyed Christmas dinner together with cookies for dessert.
Christmas Eve started out making Christmas cutout cookies and then heading to Christmas Town in Norfolk. After lunch we decorated the cookies and had an early dinner of Chinese before heading out to see Christmas lights. After getting Brooke and Alex into their elf pajamas they set out cookies, milk, and carrots for Santa and his reindeer.
Ammy and Papa were here visiting for a week over Christmas and we had a fun time doing lots of things with them. We made cookies, played outside, went to a Christmas VSO concert, went to the beach, went to the Chrysler, and the park. They were also here to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
This weekend we drove deep into North Carolina to the train station that would take us to the North Pole. Once we arrived at our hotel we read our copy of The Polar Express, changed into our pajamas, and went to the train depot. We had fun playing reindeer games, exploring, and watching a bubble show before checking our tickets getting in line for the train. Once we got on the train we received our official tickets, hot chocolate, and cookies. They read us The Polar Express book and before we knew it we were at the North Pole! We exited the train to see Santa’s sleigh with all his reindeer and watched Santa give out the first gift of Christmas, a bell. Back on the train we were singing and Santa himself came on board and gave each of us a bell. We all had a great time!
We got free tickets (plus donuts, orange juice, and popcorn) from our amazing realtor (and friend) Deb to see The Grinch. Everyone had a good time and we saw Santa before the movie! Afterwards we went to Dim Sum and then to the park to play and roll down the hill.
