Movie Date with Brooke

This morning at 9am there was a customer appreciation free movie sponsored by our realtor at our local eat in theater.  Even though Brooke is still much too young to watch movies because it was free I decided to try it.  We have watched 3 kid movies at home in 15-20 minute increments usually over 2 weeks or so.  We are lucky to have a kiddo that is not too ‘sucked into’ TV yet.  AJ was working so Brittney watched Alex while we were gone.  They had donuts and juice before the movie and then popcorn and water during the movie.  We watched ‘Penguins of Madagascar’.  Brooke was excited at the beginning and enjoyed her snacks and watching the penguins initially.  Brooke didn’t make it through the whole movie and was bored and wanted to leave 3/4 of the way through so we did.  ‘All done penguin movie show!’  She was happy and ready “Brooke go home play with baby Aha!”

Brooke Potty Training

Apparently I started the draft of this post back in January 2015 when Brooke was learning to use the potty, but I never posted it.  I believe that the video is actually from December 2014.  I thought that I’d finally post it today, Dec 5, 2019, 5 years later.

Halloween 2014

For Halloween this year we dressed up as Brooke’s favorite character – Curious George.  I was the Man in the Yellow Hat with my lovely wife Mrs. Yellow Hat and our baby banana. Thursday evening we went to library Halloween party and trick or treating inside the library.  Friday morning Laura took the kids to Stroller Strides for stroller trick or treating after class.  Then we had a great time officially trick or treating in the neighborhood that night.  This is the best street we’ve ever lived on and every neighbor was sitting in their driveway (even the ones without children) on lawn chairs with bowls of candy to give the kids.  Two houses were decorated as haunted houses with sounds effects, and many more were decorated in a family friendly fall scarecrow fashion.  It was a great time to socialize with our neighbors. Brooke enjoyed the spoils of her night as the cutest monkey on the block.

Playing in the Leaves

Today I cleaned up the leaves in the yard with Brooke’s help.  Alex even came and joined us for a bit.  Brooke loved jumping and climbing in the leaves, and even sharing them with Alex.  As you can see, Brooke is getting ready for Halloween by carrying her trick-or-treat basket with her.
