For Laura’s birthday this year, Brooke and Alex worked diligently at their gift for her – – creating a very nice planter of succulents, just what she asked for.  She seemed to enjoy that and all of her other gifts.  We gave Laura the morning off to do what she pleased, then joined her for a nice picnic lunch at the park.  Later in the week I took Laura to a ropes course at the VA Beach Aquarium, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

The weather is really getting nice this past week.  Today after lunch we all went to the park and played.  Brooke and Alex got to swing next to each other, having a great time.

For the past week I have been off of work and we’ve been making the most of it, having lots of family time.  We played around the neighborhood, went to the park several days, and Alex, Laura and AJ went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens one day while Brooke was in school.  Alex has really taken to sitting up on his own, once you set him upright.  He’ll sit there for quite a while now just playing and laughing.  Alex also got his first bike ride today, and he couldn’t have been happier on the bike, smiling the whole way down the street.
