A Good Ending

Today was a tough day, Alex has been sick with a flu-like illness and very fussy as to be expected.  Brooke woke happy this morning but upon coming home from school had a fever and felt pretty crummy herself.  We all tried to get some fresh air in our back yard this afternoon, once we got everyone to stop crying.  Then, after everyone had been feed and had a nice warm bath we came back downstairs to relax a little before bedtime; while I was getting some cleaning up done Alex brought Brooke his Whales book which she happily read to him.  It couldn’t have been a cuter ending to such a down day.

Brooke Riding Her Bike

Brooke has been getting better and better at riding her big girl bike with her training wheels. We have even gone on some very very slow family rides around the neighborhood.  Hopefully, as she gains skill and confidence we can all go on bike rides to the neighborhood park.

Mommy Daughter Date

I took Brooke out for Mommy Daughter Date. She asked to go to the art museum to we went to The Chrysler and then lunch. Brooke was most excited to draw and add her contribution to the wall. I added a companion piece to someone’s existing taco tuesday piece.

Opa and Oma Visit For Chrismas

Oma and Opa came to visit this Christmas and we had fun with them while they were here.  We played around in our new cul de sac including AJ skateboarding with the kids.  We went to Northwest River Park for a hike.  We went puddle jumping and sightseeing at the NBG.  We had a chilly day at the beach, and Alex ate his fill of sand.  The kids opened Christmas Eve gifts of pajamas and training chopsticks for Brooke because our family tradition is to have Chinese food on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day, everyone had fun opening presents and we all enjoyed a good meal.

Polar Express

Brooke and her friend Chase went to Polar Express together this year.  They got to listen to the story, eat candy canes and drink hot cocoa, then ride on the tram through the Christmas lights!
