Around and Around She Goes

Brooke enjoyed having Oma here this last week.  Oma slept on the mattress in our living room and Brooke really liked playing on it.  She would flop herself down on it, jump around and just have fun playing on the mattress.  Today she kept hopping on it, walking across the mattress and then hopped off it, only to repeat it again and again.

Halloween

Brooke has had a very eventful Halloween.  It started yesterday with stroller trick-or-treating and carving pumpkins.  Laura carved two pumpkins using a drill for one of them and I carved a jack o’lantern and a ‘B’ for Brooke’s pumpkin.  We had fun picking our pumpkins off the vine earlier this month.

Today Brooke got to do stroller trick-or-treating again and then we went to the library for a special Halloween storytime with a craft and, you guessed it, more trick-or-treating.  However, we were most excited for tonight.  We dressed up as a family as Despicable Me’s Gru and minions.  Brooke loved trick-or-treating and really enjoyed going up to everyone’s door and most of all grabbing handfuls of goodies.  We got lots of compliments from our neighbors on our costumes.  Brooke ate at least 5 pieces of chocolate while going door to door.  She was one happy toddler.

Chim-Chim-Chiree!

Brooke is in a phase of mimicking Mommy and Daddy.  Things she loves to do lately are: wear her scarf like Mommy or better yet wear Mommy’s or Jen’s or whoever is over at our house, scrub the floor with the brush Daddy uses to clean the carpet after she throws food, sweep the garage, help push the vacuum, help pump Mommy’s bike tires or BOB tires, help Mommy make the bed, help Mommy with the laundry, etc.  Yesterday after dinner we were going to go on a wagon ride around the neighborhood which Brooke had requested prior to dinner.  After dinner, however, Brooke did not want to do it without her broom.  So after she had fun sweeping the sidewalk, she swept the streets of our neighborhood.  I pulled her in that wagon for a half mile as she watched the broom sweep the street.  If I attempted to take the broom from her (at the house or in the wagon) I got a resounding ‘NO!’ and she would put both arms on the broom.  We got some chuckles from the neighbors but Brooke decided she wanted to CLEAN UP THESE STREETS!

Our Day

Today Brooke and I had a typical day day.  We ran 3 miles at the park before SS then went to stroller strides where she had a wonderful time and I finished out 4.5 miles and had a total body workout, then she ran around with her friends.  Then after her nap, during which I made 3 days worth of meals (yes I have been on a cooking streak- yesterday was 2 days worth), it became sunny for 1 hour so we decided to take advantage of it and finally go to the park.  For those of you not in Virginia it has been raining for a week and half straight.  Brooke was so cute playing around in her room with me until the sun broke I had to take pictures of her adorable face!  She is eating her 2nd lunch during the photos and we were laughing it up (yes Brooke eats breakfast, snack, lunch 1, lunch 2, snack, dinner).  We had just enough time at the playground before it started to storm again.  Enjoy!
