Alex has been saying more and more each week. He certainly understands more than he says. One of his newest words, and my favorite, is ‘Daddy’, moving on from ‘Dadda’.

Today was a tough day, Alex has been sick with a flu-like illness and very fussy as to be expected. Brooke woke happy this morning but upon coming home from school had a fever and felt pretty crummy herself. We all tried to get some fresh air in our back yard this afternoon, once we got everyone to stop crying. Then, after everyone had been feed and had a nice warm bath we came back downstairs to relax a little before bedtime; while I was getting some cleaning up done Alex brought Brooke his Whales book which she happily read to him. It couldn’t have been a cuter ending to such a down day.

Poor Alex has been sick. That means that we take turns throughout the night multiple times, either getting him back to sleep or sleeping with him in the nursing chair. This morning AJ finished out a late morning wake up with Alex in his chair.
While Brooke was at school I took Alex on a Mommy Son Date to the Aquarium. This was his first time and since he has been pointing out ‘fisssh’ out of his books I thought he might enjoy seeing some real fish. At the end he even touched a crab in the touch tank!
