Alex is 4 months old!

Today was Alex’s 4 month birthday and also his well baby visit with Dr. Mink.  Alex measures in at 27 inches long and 17lb 6oz.  Here are some pictures of his morning.

Alex Laughing

Alex laughed for the first time Monday night while AJ was at work.  Yesterday he laughed repeatedly at AJ while he was pushing the stroller on our afternoon walk.  Today I got a few giggles though mostly a lot of happy talking when he was looking at himself and me in the mirror. What a cutie!!

Time with Alex- 3 months

Last week Alex turned 3 months while we were enjoying our 4 day visit with Oma and Opa.  Today while Brooke was at school I tried to find some decent light on this rainy November day to take some pictures of Alex.  At 3 months Alex is picking up toys, bringing toys/hands/clothes to his mouth and gumming on them, he has improved head control, he talks up a storm, he’s adopted his sisters aversion (at the same age) to smiling at the camera unless you trick him, and he sucks his left thumb.  He likes it when I sing to him and playing a new game called ‘Captain Alex!’  A game AJ started and I named.  I lie on the floor and lift him over my head so we are face to face and make airplane noises as he flies around.  He likes this game so much that I think I heard his first laugh today.

Alex’s New Skills

Alex has started grabbing on to toys, clothes, us… whatever is near him.  He is doing a great job honing those motor skills.  We started giving him toys while he is sitting in a chair so he can practice picking things up.  Already he has transferred a toy from one hand to another.  Also he is very fond of the fingers on his left hand (sound familiar?) and sucks them to sooth himself.  He has started drooling excessively and putting toys in his mouth too.  He might be trying to beat his sisters record for earliest first tooth.

Also Alex has lots of new baby toys but he still likes the old standards like the classic ladybug.
