‘Spring’ weather

So as I have told every visitor that we have had Virginia, the weather is bipolar.  Friday through Monday there was snow on the ground and Tuesday and today it was 72 degrees with 100% humidity (read 82 degrees for those not familiar with the warming quality of humidity) and sunny.  Brooke got to show her strong little arms off today and Mom and Dad wore shorts and t-shirts. We enjoyed the ‘spring’ days and spending time outside. Of course the rest of the week is back to normal-40 degree highs.   Oh silly weather….

Mom’s Running Buddy

One of Brooke’s favorite things is to go for a ride in her BOB. This morning she joined me as she always does Sunday morning for my long run. We ran 8.4 miles through beautiful snow lined streets and occasionally on iced sidewalks and sometimes snow powdered grass. Brooke was so warm and comfortable she fell asleep and had a nice long nap and was in an amazing mood the rest of today.

Brooke’s Personalized Growth Chart

I have been taking several weeks to work on this project for Brooke.  For those who know me and know I am not very crafty at all, this is a feat.  I wanted to make her a custom board because most of them top off at 5’8”.  Since that is shorter than me, and I am the 2nd shortest woman in the collective family, I don’t think 5’8” would cut it.  AJ and I will be surprised is Brooke is less than 6 feet tall.  So I made this custom board for her out of a nice pine plank to look like a ruler with her name on it, something not too baby-centric.  I sanded it, stained it, hand wrote the marks and numbers with a paint pen, and then painted, glued and clamped the letters on.  I wanted to make her something that she will stand next to and measure herself at eight and eighteen.
