NBG Light Walk
We enjoyed a NEW Christmas display at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens this year.
Decorating for Christmas
The kids and I did the unlit outside decorations and the kitchen ones while AJ was at work on Thanksgiving, but the next morning we all did the tree together!
Thanksgiving
We started Thanksgiving off with a new activity this year. The kids wanted to run in their run club’s Turkey Trot one-mile race. It was Alex’s first race! Alex finished 8:52min and was the third 7-year-old boy. Brooke finished 7:05min and was the first 9-year-old girl. Then everyone watched the parade, and Brooke and Alex helped me with some lunch prep. We had an early meal as AJ had to work, but the kids and I got started on Christmas decorations as a surprise for AJ when he got home late.
Cottage Getaway
It’s been a challenging fall for us, and so many of our normal activities have been altered. We decided to rent a small cottage for an impromptu visit to Lake Anna State Park to get out of town for the weekend. It was just what we needed.
