Mommy Daughter VSO Date

Brooke and I went on a date to the Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s American in Paris performance.  We had an amazing time!  The music was unbelievable as usual and this time the focus was on dance.  There were professional dancers in ballroom, lyrical, and a full ballet to Gershwin’s 19 minute An American in Paris.  Brooke loved it so much she said she wanted it to start over the minute it stopped!  Naturally we went to gelato after the show.  It was great to get some one on one time with Brooke.

Alex’s Spring Concert

Today Alex had his singing concert at his preschool.  It was Summer themed and the kids had a lot of fun.  Alex did an amazing job singing!  He didn’t sing at all at home because he wanted to surprise us the day of.  It was really fun to watch!

Great Wolf Lodge!

It’s that time of year again!  We picked the kids up from school and drove to Williamsburg for an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge.  We had a blast playing 5 hours nonstop the first day.  We went on all the rides now that Alex is 48 in tall and played in all the different pools together.  We had our traditional pizza by the pool for dinner.  We closed out the water park, took showers, and had a game of UNO before bed.  The next morning we went out to IHOP for breakfast since the parked opened late at 10am.  Then we played until 3pm and had to head home, but not before having delicious Pierce’s BBQ for lunch/dinner.  Everyone really had a great time!!

Donuts with Dad

Alex’s preschool had a ‘Donuts with Dad’ event when AJ got to go to the classroom and enjoy donuts with Alex.  Alex gave AJ a personally colored tie and a card detailing all the reasons he loves him.

Hiking and such

With it being the end of winter and spring just started it is still pretty cold here but we have had a few warmer days and so have been getting a few hikes in.  The kids are very excited to be spending more time outdoors!
