After a playdate at the park with one of Alex’s friends I took the kids to the dismal swap with our bikes to enjoy a bike ride away from home. It was nice to find a patch of shade on a very hot morning and we had a lot of fun riding on a pedestrian/bike only road.

The Destruction of the Three Day Fort
AJ built this impressive fort out of our couch three days ago and we have been playing in ever since. Today it needed to be taken down and the kiddos had as much fun destroying the fort as they have had playing in it. Yea summer!!
Tent Camping in the Playroom
Brooke asked if she could sleep in the tent overnight. They had both slept in their rooms in their sleeping bag before but not in the playroom. It was the first time they slept in the tent and in the playroom together. They had fun and were both excited to wake up in the tent the next morning. Summer fun!
Family Bowling Night
Aunt Allison gave Brooke a gift card for her to take us bowling for her birthday. We went after AJ got home from work after dinner. Everyone had a good time trying to knock down all the pins. It was a really fun family outing! Brooke enjoyed being able to pay for all of us, thanks Aunt Allison!
Summer School
Since the kids are out of school we have been doing summer school. We started off by making the cool crafts that are hanging above the table.. They each have a workbook: Alex’s is tracing, Brooke’s is sight-words reading and writing. Then they have flash cards: ABC for Alex, sight-words for Brooke (also telling time- she loves that one). We do crafts and Alex works on letter printing and Brooke writes paragraphs and draws pictures for her stories. We have been trying to do it a few days a week and they have been having a lot of fun doing it!
