Mother’s Day

I had a very enjoyable mother’s day this year.  Alex picked out roses for me when he and AJ were running errands.  He just saw them and told AJ that I should have them.  It was the sweetest thing.  My mom sent delicious chocolate covered strawberries. Brooke bought me a very cute purse that I was looking at from Target, which I use all the time now.  AJ got my car completely detailed for me and now it has none of the stroller markings that it has had for the past 5 years!  We had an enjoyable breakfast, at which they gave me my gifts, including updating my mother’s day book.  We went to the park after lunch at Taste and they made me dinner!

Brooke’s 6th Birthday Party

Brooke decided to have her 6th Birthday Party at the local trampoline park Cloud9.  She invited her friends to join in her for an hour of jumping and fun obstacles followed by pizza lunch and of course cake.  She had such a great time and even spontaneously thanked us for such a great party.  When we got home she got to open all her presents including her Pogo stick which she had been asking for.

Mother’s Day Treats with Alex

Today Alex’s school celebrated Mother’s Day by inviting us to have dessert with them after their lunch.  I got to join Alex in his classroom and he showed me that he made the pretty butterfly decoration on the table.  He also gave me a bookmark made with his fingerprints as a gift/keepsake along with lots of hugs and love.  I love my sweet boy!

Fun Day in Norfolk

Today I took the kids to the Wells Theater for Children’s Theatre of Hamton Roads presentation of Davy Crockett’s Tremendously Tall Tales.  We got to Norfolk early to ensure the tickets I bought a long time ago were at will call and then walked to the USS Wisconsin for to look around before returning to the show.  The kids had a lot of fun and the play was written by the 3 actors who preformed it.  It was very interactive and we all loved it.  Afterwards the kids were hungry so we walked to The Granby Deli for sandwiches al fresco.  We walked around enjoying the art before spending over an hour at the Slover library enjoying their books, interactive areas, and their rooftop garden. We walked down to waterside before heading home.  It was a great day!
