Alex’s Train Table

AJ put his woodworking skills to use building Alex a custom train table for his third birthday.  It is larger and taller than a standard train table which is a perfect fit for Alex’s room and our taller than average children.  After we decided how big it should be, AJ got to work making the table with a beautiful inlay for the trains and tracks to go on.  He stained the wood and then painted a polyurethane finish.  The finished product is gorgeous and Alex loves it!  It was completed prior to going on vacation but Oma and Opa gave Alex the finishing touches of the tracks for his birthday.  Alex (and everyone else) has been having a great time playing with the new train table.

Brooke’s First Lost Tooth

Brooke lost her first tooth while we were on vacation in Sandbridge.  After a month of it being wiggly and having to avoid eating with her front teeth she woke one morning and came to me to show how her tooth was almost all the way out!  It popped right out and she was excited to put it under her pillow in her tooth case to get a shiny quarter from the tooth fairy!  Her adult tooth is already very visible and making it’s way through!

Sandbridge Vacation

We spent a week at our favorite local beach – Sandbridge.  We rented a condo and had a few days of overcast and rain.  Brooke and Alex got to try boogie boarding for the first time and they had a great time with it!  Oma and Opa joined us at the beach and brought the sunshine with them.  We had beautiful sunny days for the rest of the trip even though it rained a few nights. We had a lot of fun building numerous sand castles, making mermaids and octopuses out of the children, lots of swimming in the ocean, relaxing on the beach, and more boogie boarding.  We also had a first for Brooke when she lost her first tooth!  It had been wiggly for about a month and decided to come out at the beach.  The kiddos had a lot of fun at the condo too, playing with Oma and Opa and the treasure hunt game Oma made for them.  On the last night we climbed the lifeguard towers before heading home the next day.

Rainy Marshmallows

AJ wanted to roast marshmallows and didn’t let a little rain get in the way of that! 🙂

Kids Hammocks

I bought the kids a fun hammock that they could share.  It is wrap around material so they would not fall out and I put it near their playhouse about a foot off the ground.  Naturally, they both wiggled and fought each other in the hammock which necessitated me buying a second hammock.  Now they both have their own and can hold hands and swing each other but have their own space.

They finished off the afternoon by going and getting their own snack from inside and then getting their own table to eat it at.
