Christmas 2017

We had a great Christmas celebration with Oma and Opa visiting.  We saw Christmas lights a day early because of expected rain.  We enjoying visiting Christmas Towne on Christmas Eve morning, making Christmas cookies for Santa, and our traditional Chinese dinner before setting out cookies and carrots for Santa.  Santa came and brought the kiddos exactly what they asked for: a little Christmas tree to decorate and a T-Rex dinosaur with mouth that opens and closes.  They also got many many many gifts from family and from us too. Oma and Opa enjoyed opening their gifts from the kids and from us as well.  After opening presents, the kids got to try out their new scooters we got them.  Everyone helped me make dinner which was wonderful and we all enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner.  Merry Christmas!

Oma and Opa Visit for Christmas

Oma and Opa visited us the week of Christmas and we had a great time having them! We enjoyed some fun at the park on a warm day, seeing Christmas lights, going to Christmas Towne on Christmas Eve, celebrating Christmas and enjoying playing with all the toys afterward.  They even got to see snow flurries before they had to leave!

NBG Polar Express

Today we took the Polar Express tram through the NBG lights.  The kids got to see Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas, but of course he already got their note. 🙂

Brooke’s Kindergarten Christmas Party

We got to join Brooke in her class today for her Christmas Party.  We had fun helping her with crafts and activities and watching her interact with her teachers and friends.

Teddy Bear Tea

Today we took the kids to a special surprise!  We bought a new dress and shoes for Brooke (that we gave her today) and Alex’s Christmas vest so we could dress fancy and go to the Teddy Bear Tea at the Founders Inn.  At our beautifully decorated table there was a new teddy bear friend for each of them to take home.  We enjoyed tea (well just me), hot chocolate with marshmallows (everyone else) and a fun kid themed buffet.  The buffet was set up on a table two feet off the ground, complete with desserts first, chocolate strawberries, cupcakes, animal crackers, ants on a log, chicken nuggets, mini corn-dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and teddy bear shaped crustless PB&J.  At the end of the buffet they had scones, then tomato, cucumber, and chicken salad sandwiches for the adults.  It was adorable!  Brooke really enjoyed going to the buffet and helping herself.  We supervised Alex’s visits.  After enjoying our lunch, the kids got some wiggles out before enjoying a magic show, which Alex got to be a part of.  He even decided to get his face painted right before we left.  Once we got home the kids headed right to the playroom to let their bears drink ‘tea’ from our play kitchen tea set.
