My friend Kelli’s husband is a pilot for the Navy and has as crazy a schedule as AJ so we often get the kids together for dinner while our husbands are working.

Gymnastics
We enrolled Brooke and Alex in gymnastics. Brooke takes the independent Tots class for 3-5 year olds, and Alex takes a Parent/Child class for 18mo-35mo olds. Alex loves his teacher Miss Nina and does his stretches every morning with her. They get to practice many different skills. They both have gained great body awareness, skill, and confidence from their classes.
Hanging Out in Our Tree
On a nice winter afternoon Laura and the kids decided to climb in one of our trees, just monkeying around.
First Snow Day of The Season
Yesterday was the first day that the kids and I got to play in some snow. It was a small dusting of only an inch or two but enough to have a little bit of fun in. After getting them dressed very warmly, we headed out to the deck where most of the snow had not already melted. Both kids had fun shoveling snow and Alex used his shovel for the first time for it’s intended purpose. We built a little snowman, leaving enough snow for them to play in. Brooke had fun putting some snow on Daddy’s car (he took my Subaru to work for the icy roads). Then Alex was all giggles as we had a fun snowball fight. Brooke kept getting him and I got a video of him chasing her with a snowball that he eventually drops. Afterwards, we settled in with some warm cocoa, marshmallows, and animal crackers.

Alex Saying ‘Daddy’
Alex has been saying more and more each week. He certainly understands more than he says. One of his newest words, and my favorite, is ‘Daddy’, moving on from ‘Dadda’.
