An evening at the gardens

Tonight I spent a wonderful evening with Brooke at the gardens.  We got to enjoy some quality Mommy/Brooke time and do some of her favorite things: watch for airplanes (for a solid hour), look for butterflies, play in the fountains, and play in the playhouses.

NBG Butterfly Festival

Today we went to the NBG Butterfly Festival as a family.  Brooke did a butterfly necklace craft, we took the tram for the first time to the butterfly house, and had lunch from the local food trucks.

A Visit with Christine

Christine came to visit this last week and we had a lot of fun with her.  Brooke really enjoyed spending time with her Tia.  The visit got off to a rocky start when I went to pick up Christine and it was raining terribly.  After about a half hour after her flight should have landed she called and let me know that she was on the ground…… but in another city!  After a six-hour delay AJ picked up Christine late and we got our visit started the next day.  Unfortunately, it rained hard all day but we made the most of it playing indoors and I even tried my hand at being a ‘crafty mom’ and we borrowed a library movie and I made popcorn and tickets.  After a hand of cards where everyone played even baby, we settled in to watch our movie.  During her visit we also went to the museum, played at the park, swam at our pool, went to an outdoor concert, went to the beach, and an ice cream treat after the beach.

Stroller Strides Baby Sprinkle

My wonderful friends at Stroller Strides lead by my friend Jen threw me a baby sprinkle this morning.  Jen made a diaper cake (so now we have diapers!), made me sweet tea, decorated, and made a cute old wives tale prediction plaque of what sex the baby will be.  She organized with the other moms to bring food for the potluck and they all pitched in for a target gift card for baby supplies (like more diapers!)
