Christmas 2014

This holiday season was a fun one because Brooke is old enough to have some idea of what is going on and learned about all the fun traditions of Christmas. It was also Alex’s first Christmas. We had Ammy and Papa visit us this week and they had a lot of fun playing with Brooke and Alex. On Christmas Eve we went to see Christmas lights and then set out Spritzgebäck cookies and milk for Santa. Then everyone had fun opening gifts on Christmas morning and enjoyed a Christmas dinner.

Alex’s First Time at the Aquarium

I took the kids this morning to the Aquarium for Brooke to run around since it has been so rainy lately. Alex mostly slept while his sister played but they both got to see scuba Santa before we headed out.

Today was Alex’s 4 month birthday and also his well baby visit with Dr. Mink. Alex measures in at 27 inches long and 17lb 6oz. Here are some pictures of his morning.

Polar Express Date with Brooke

Tonight we took Brooke to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens for their polar express night. We got to do a craft, have hot cocoa and a treat, and then listen to a story before riding on the ‘train’ through the lights. We got a sitter as to not subject Alex to the 38 degree weather and so we decided to keep Brooke up past her bedtime and take her to dinner too.

Laura’s Birthday in December

In April AJ gave me a birthday present of taking a glass class at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio. However, at the time I was pregnant and thought that it was probably a bad idea for me to be anywhere near the hot house. So I decided to wait until after Alex was born to go to a class. They had a ‘blow your own ornament’ class so AJ and I took that class today. Here are the pictures of our process. The ornaments need a few days to cool and then we’ll update this page with the finished product.
