AJ’s Residency Graduation

Tuesday June 11th was an exciting day for us as it was AJ’s graduation form residency.  It has been a busy three years of learning and working for EVMS but on June 30th he will no longer be a resident and will start work as an attending!  AJ and I have attended the graduation ceremonies the past two years and were fortunate enough to enjoy the grace and hospitality of Dr. Counselman and his wife who hosted this years ceremony at their Larchmont home.  It was a wonderful time visiting with old friends and of course celebrating AJ’s achievements!  I could not be any prouder of him and all the work he has put in these last three years.  I love you AJ!!

Walking Walking Walking!

Everyday Brooke is doing such an amazing job walking.  She is getting better at changing direction quickly and keeping up with the brisk pace of her parents.  This afternoon Brooke and I went to a craft fair at the Town Center fountains and she got to practice her walking around the courtyard.  She also had some fun putting her hands and other things in the fountains.  We walked around the nearby shops and she tried her first tiny piece of Belgium chocolate at a local chocolatier. She wasn’t too excited but I am sure that will change as she gets older.

Grammy and Grandpa Visit

This past week we got to visit with Grammy and Grandpa.  We all enjoyed having them around, but Brooke really had a good time hanging out with them, going to the beach, playing at the park and going to a farm.  Also, Brooke really got comfortable walking all on her own this week – – it’s been quite the transformation to where she now just runs around the house anywhere she’d like to go.

Alphabet Fun!

I bought Brooke some new bath toys that I thought she might enjoy and would help to teach letters to her.  One of the fun aspects of these large foam letters is that when wet they stick to the tub.  Brooke wet one and stuck it intentionally to my bicep and then we learned that they stuck to people too.  Then AJ decided to stick some letters to Brooke.

A Walk in the Park

Enjoying the nice Sunday that it is, we took a bike ride to our local park.  Brooke had a fun time playing on the swings and playground like she always does.  After playing for a while, Brooke decided it was time to show off her walking skills that she has been working on – – she’s getting quite good.
