I love that we live right next to the ocean and can be part of a coastal community. Today Brooke had a day with the fishes. It had been a while and her book on sea creatures was becoming a regular read at night and during the day so I decided to take her to the aquarium on a cold 37 degree day. It was hard to get a picture of her as of course she moves so much and was looking all around but here is the best I have.
Today it was 80 degrees by noon. I decided to take advantage of the warm weather and surprised AJ by bringing Brooke by VBG and then we went to the beach. Brooke had a lot of fun playing on the playground and then a little too much fun getting into the ocean that her skirt got wet. She decided she didn’t need pants and kept playing without them which brought on a lot of giggles from the other parents standing nearby.
Yesterday was the winter solstice and it was a nice day to get outside an play. I took Brooke on a run with some strength training around the park and then AJ joined us to play on the playground afterwards. Brooke wanted to try bicep curls after watching Mommy doing them. She had a lot of fun.
We were invited to a friend’s house for a Christmas party last night. We all had a great time being with friends, and seeing the light display at their neighbor’s house. Santa was there as well but Brooke refused to get near him, so Mom had to cozy up to Santa to get a picture.
Thursday we went as a family to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens to their polar express night. We got chocolate milk and cookies and a reading of the polar express and then a tram ride through the garden of lights.
